VOTING BY ABSENTEE BALLOT
Partisan Office Election
August 11th, 2020
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is any U.S. citizen, who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 10 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot.
Request an Absentee Ballot
· You may complete an application to request an absentee ballot be emailed or mailed at:
https://myvote.wi.gov/en-us/VoteAbsentee
· You may be asked to provide a picture of your photo ID, if not already on file.
Voting by absentee ballot in person
· You can go to the clerk’s office to vote an absentee ballot during the hours specified for casting an absentee ballot. The first day to vote absentee in person is Tuesday July 28th. The last day to vote absentee in person is Friday, August 7th,

The deadline for making application to vote absentee by mail is 5pm on the fifth day before the election, Thursday, August 6th. Paper Applications are available through the Town of Bayfield website www.townofbayfieldwi.gov. Click on the Government Tab, then Election Information. You may also request an absentee ballot by letter or email. Your written request must list your voting address within the municipality where you wish to vote, the address/email address where the absentee ballot should be sent. Mail or email to the address listed above. A copy of an acceptable Photo ID must be provided with requests unless already on file. The municipal clerk will deliver voted ballots returned on or before Election Day to the proper polling place or counting location before the polls close on Tuesday, August 11th, 2020 to be counted.
