Offering short-term, low-interest loans to small business

The Bayfield Growth Incentive Fund (GIF) is an established, revolving fund that provides low interest, short-term, loans to small businesses, including fruit growers and cottage industries. The Town of Bayfield wants to help create well paying year-round employment opportunities for the resident families of the area by encouraging the growth of existing businesses and attracting new businesses that fit the Town's vision for its future.

Growth Incentive Fund Application

The Bayfield GIF is managed by a board of seven Trustees, including one Town Board member, the Town Treasurer, and five appointed residents of the Town of Bayfield.

The Board of Trustees meets to consider all applications for loans, interviews loan applicants, and ensures that all terms are being met for loans that have been granted.

Individuals who reside in the Town of Bayfield and have a business located in the town of Bayfield, or in the neighboring communities of the City of Bayfield, Red Cliff, or the Towns of Bayview, Russell and LaPointe.

Individuals who have a business in the Town of Bayfield, but who reside in the neighboring communities of the City of Bayfield, Red Cliff, or the Towns of Bayview, Russell, and LaPointe.

All approved Bayfield GIF loans are governed but the following terms:

Loans of up to $7,500

Rate of 1 % below prime

60 Months

Area businesses and community members are invited to contribute to the Bayfield Growth Incentive Fund as a way of supporting and strengthening our local economy. To make a tax-deductible contribution to the revolving loan fund, send payment why a note specifying it is a donation for the Bayfield GIF to:
